It seems every week there is a new story on police officers shooting someone’s dog.
On July 15 the Dona Ana County Sheriffs office shot and killed the dog of someone who had been the victim of a crime.
The Las Cruces Sun News reported:
“When sheriff’s deputies went into Hernandez’s [the victim’s] house, they were charged at by a pit bull that was in the yard. A deputy shot and killed the dog, in an effort to defend himself.”
It is not okay for the police to shoot your pets, especially if you are completely innocent in regards to any crime.
