Ronald Fronczek was struck by a vehicle and killed March 6, 2011 while riding on U.S. 70 in Dona Ana county.
On August 16, 2013 Reid Burnett, 4, and his mother Kathy Burnett, 34, daughter of bicycle accident victim Ronald Fronczek placed flowers on a “ghost bike” memorial for Fronczek between mile marker 165 and 166 on U.S. 70.
The memorial was donated by the Duke City Wheelmen from Albuquerque and is part of a state and nationwide movement to recognize the cyclists killed each year after being hit by cars.
Tragically, like nationwide, these accidents occur in our Southern New Mexico community. When a bicyclist is injured by a driver, he or she can be compensated under the driver’s insurance. If the bicyclist is injured and the driver does not have sufficient insurance to compensate the victim, that victim’s own uninsured or underinsured car insurance can cover the victim…even through the victim was not in his or her car.
When someone has been injured in this type of accident, it’s important that they consult with a personal injury lawyer. If you need a personal injury lawyer, you can contact McGraw Law & Associates at (575) 323-1529
